Generals Win Streak Reaches 6
|
Les Fitzsimmons did all he could to help his team win. In the end, though, it wasn't enough to keep the Montreal Habitants from losing, 9-8, to the Atlanta Generals at Atlantic Station Field. Fitzsimmons went 3 for 4 with 3 singles. He drove in 3 runs and scored once. The winner was Chris Williams, who threw 98 pitches over 5 innings. The right-hander was charged with 6 runs on 6 hits. Steve Gregg converted his 8th save in 10 tries.
The Generals got a big at-bat from pitcher Chris Williams. For the game, Williams threw 5.0 innings allowing 6 runs. In the bottom of the third, with the bases loaded, he stroked a bases-clearing double. His 1st double of the season gave Atlanta a 7-5 lead.
"I had pretty good command out there," said Williams.
Atlanta has a 6-game win streak, while Montreal has lost 3 in a row.
