Northmen Pick Up 5-3 Win Against New York
|
Ben Hall, who is tied for 9th in the ABL in quality starts with 9, had a strong outing for the Twin Cities Northmen against the New York Empires at Twin Cities Stadium. The right-hander was a big part of his team's 5-3 win. Hall got the win, improving to 5-4. He gave up 7 hits and walked 2 over 9 innings. He allowed 3 runs. The win has Twin Cities at 22-35.
Carl Jacobs, who led the ABL in home runs with 39 in 1970, took New York hurler Nate Frampton deep in the bottom of the third. His 2-run home run put the Northmen on top, 4-3. In all, Jacobs had 1 single in addition to the home run, while going 2 for 4.
