Boosted by the 3-hit performance of Glenn Palmer, who is tied for 6th in the NBL in home runs with 9, the Cincinnati Packers defeated the Washington Eagles, 8-1. The win puts Cincinnati at 23-34.

The Packers ran into trouble in the top of the third. The score was 1-0, Cincinnati, with two out. Washington, with runners on 1st and 3rd, had Vince Marshall at the plate. With a base hit, he could have changed the complexion of the game. Instead, he grounded out and the Packers went on to win.
