Late Rally by Terriers Locks Up 2-1 Win
|
Boston Terriers starter Jeff Butler turned in a sterling performance against the Detroit Wolverines, leading his team to a slim 2-1 win. Mark Gaynor notched the win in relief. The right-hander allowed no runs on 1 hit in 2 innings. His record now sits at 3-2. With the win, the Terriers have a record of 29-29.
Boston relied on the hitting of Lou Middleton to pick up the win. The center fielder ripped a run-scoring triple in the top of the ninth inning to put the Terriers on top, 2-1. For the game, Middleton had 1 triple and 1 single in 4 at-bats.
"I just trusted my stuff," said Butler.
