The San Diego Captains and Chicago Traders provided some drama for the home crowd.

Randy Adams pitched well, but the San Diego Captains still lost the game, falling, 3-2, to the Chicago Traders at San Diego Sporting Complex. The second-place Traders are now 35-25, the Captains 39-21.

John Sledd came through with a big-time hit for Chicago. The first baseman smacked a solo home run in the top of the ninth inning to give his team the lead, 3-2. It was his only hit, but it was clutch.

"You work hard, day in and day out, hoping to give the fans something to cheer about. Today was a good day," Sledd told the Chicago Times.
