Getting a good performance from left fielder Ernie Ronnebaum, the Chicago Hawks defeated the Seattle Emeralds, 6-4. Ronnebaum went 3-5 with a triple and a double. He scored 2 times and drove in 2 for the Hawks. Picking up the save was 22-year old right-handed pitcher Angel Villatoro. Chicago is now 23-33. Seattle is 24-33.

Early in the game, Ronnebaum had a 2-run triple for Chicago. It was his 1st triple of the season and put the Hawks on top, 2-0.

"It doesn't matter if you're 10 games over .500 or 10 games under, it feels good to win," Ronnebaum told the Chicago Herald.
