Bobcats Win Nail-Biter
|
The Cleveland Bobcats had to overcome a good performance from New York pitcher Jack Forbes to claim a 2-1 win at Knickerbocker Stadium. Forbes went 7 innings and allowed 1 run. Cleveland reliever Ivan Rogue got the win, raising his record to 4-2. Tim McGovern was tagged with the loss. The Bobcats, at 27-30, sit in 6th place in the National Baseball League Eastern Division.
The game was at a stalemate until pitcher Ivan Rogue came to bat in the top of the 11th. Facing New York pitcher Tim McGovern, he hit a 0-1 fastball for a run-scoring single. It was a game-changer, putting Cleveland on top, 2-1.
"Our team showed some gumption," said Rogue. "I like it."
