Packers Fall Short, 2-1, at Pittsburgh
The Pittsburgh Industrials went home winners at Allegheny Field, thanks in large part to starter Dick Witt. Witt stifled the Cincinnati Packers, enabling Pittsburgh to grab the 2-1 win. The National Baseball League Eastern Division-leading Industrials are 40-18.

Tim Grange had a big 2-run double for the Industrials in the bottom of the fourth inning. With Pittsburgh trailing 1-0 and runners on 1st and 3rd, he got a sinker from Joe Clabaugh and swatted a double to left. It was his 9th double of the season, and more importantly, it put the Industrials ahead, 2-1.

Grange attributed the win to his team's "hyper resolve."
