Habitants Lose By a Run at Toronto

The Toronto Hurons scored a tight, 4-3 win versus the Montreal Habitants at Dominion Field. Toronto pitcher Bill John held his own in the contest. John, now 3-4, was the winner. In 7 innings, he gave up 6 hits, while striking out 7, walking 1, and allowing 2 runs. Toronto has 3 straight wins, Montreal 3 straight losses.
Toronto took the lead, 4-2, on Pete Hambrick's 4th home run of the season. The grand slam home run came off Montreal pitcher Hervé Lelièvre in the bottom of the seventh.
"We put together a nice win," Hambrick said.
