The performance of Norm Lane proved critical in helping Los Angeles beat Houston, 7-5, in 10 innings. The Pobladores third baseman went 1-1 with a home run and 3 walks, while scoring 2. The win went to Leon Fairley in relief. His record improves to 2-4. Dick Witt took the loss. The defeat makes Houston 26-32.

Los Angeles used the timely hitting of Manuel Castillo to seize the win. The second baseman stroked a 2-run single in the top of the tenth inning to put the Pobladores on top, 7-5. It was his only hit in 6 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.

"My job is to go out and play as hard as I can for the Pobladores," said Castillo.
