The Boston Terriers spoiled a good performance by Montreal left fielder Steve Burke, bumping off Montreal, 5-2, at LaSalle Stadium. Burke went 2 for 3 with a home run, a double, and 2 walks, while scoring 2 times. The last-place Terriers now have a record of 22-36.

Boston catcher Judson Currie helped the Terriers go up, 3-1, in the top of the sixth inning. With the game tied, Currie hit a 2-run single off Montreal pitcher Hervé Lelièvre.

"We put a lot of pressure on ourselves," Currie told a Boston Times reporter. "Sometimes we just need to relax."
