Hurons Send New York Home with 3-0 Loss
|
Toronto starter Dan Crumm put the New York offense in a vise grip. The left-hander relied heavily on his changeup in leading the Hurons to a 3-0 win. The winner was Crumm. He threw 8.1 innings of shutout ball. The loser was Jack Neenan. Toronto is now 27-32.
The outcome was still in doubt with two out in the top of the sixth inning, but Crumm was able to pitch out of a jam. With the bases loaded and New York trailing 2-0, Crumm retired Miguel Preciado, who grounded out.
