Bluebirds Get 6-3 Win Versus New York
|
The Brooklyn Bluebirds beat the New York Knickerbockers by a score of 6-3. Brooklyn first baseman Ron Freeman deserved the lion's share of the credit. Freeman was 2 for 4 with 2 home runs. He drove in 3 runs and scored twice for the Bluebirds. Brooklyn pitcher Kevin Wade got the win. He's now 6-3. Chris Hull was tagged with the loss. The Bluebirds now have a record of 28-31 with the win over New York.
With Brooklyn trailing 1-0 in the bottom of the third, Freeman hit a fastball from Chris Hull for a 2-run home run. It was his 8th home run of the season and put the Bluebirds ahead, 2-1.
"Ron was ready to go. Big day for him," said Brooklyn manager John Meeker.
