Dan Valenti brought his A-game to help Denver defeat the Washington Eagles, 4-1. The winner in relief was Joe Hamby. He is now 4-2. The right-hander allowed no runs on no hits in 3 innings. The National Baseball League Western Division-leading Burros are 39-21.

Denver took a 2-1 lead on Jimmy Benson's 3rd home run of the season. The solo home run, which Benson hit in the bottom of the seventh, left Washington pitcher Pedro Nunez visibly frustrated.

"Dan was able to locate to both sides, up and down," said Denver manager Clark Anderson.
