Wranglers Bounce Northmen, 3-1
|
The Dallas Wranglers picked up a win at Twin Cities Stadium, defeating the Twin Cities Northmen, 3-1. Starting pitcher Steve Coomes was an essential part of his team's success. Frank Dunn closed out the game, earning his 17th save. Dallas sits in 5th place in the American Baseball League Western Division at 29-32.
Duane Simmons, who finished 5th in the ABL in batting average with .318 in 1973, had a direct impact on the outcome. Simmons contributed a run-scoring walk in the top of the fifth inning to put Dallas up, 3-1.
"It was a good effort all around," said Coomes.
