Emeralds Spill Habitants, 7-4
|
The Seattle Emeralds topped the Montreal Habitants, 7-4, in American Baseball League action at Puget Field. The standout performance belonged to Seattle pitcher and Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, native Denny Goldberg. Seattle now sits at 27-34, while Montreal falls to 30-31.
Seattle catcher Al Link contributed a timely at-bat in the bottom of the second. With two down, he hit a fastball to center field for a run-scoring single. It was his 32nd hit of the season and put the Emeralds ahead, 2-0.
"I'm just looking for a good pitch that I can hit well," said Link. "And not try to do too much."
