Industrials Reel Off Another Win
|
Behind a fine performance from Tim Grange, the Pittsburgh Industrials knocked off the St. Louis Explorers, 5-2. Grange went 2 for 3 with a home run. He drove in 2 runs and scored once for the Industrials. Pittsburgh starter Roger Long was credited with the win after throwing 143 pitches over 8 innings. His record now stands at 2-0. St. Louis falls to 3-4.
Who knows how it might've ended, had it not been for Billy Nielsen? The Pittsburgh shortstop had a 2-run double in the top of the second inning to put the Industrials on top, 2-1. For the game, Nielsen had 1 double and 1 single in 4 at-bats.
"This team keeps racking up the wins," said Industrials manager Vincent Wicker.
