Traders Clonk Explorers, 6-1
|
Spirited fans greeted the St. Louis Explorers for their clash with the Chicago Traders.
Chicago Traders starter Bobby Peters was in the groove. He led his team to a win over the St. Louis Explorers, 6-1. Peters yielded 1 run over 8 innings to notch the win. He scattered 4 hits, walked 2, and struck out 4. His record improves to 7-5.
Chicago used a clutch at-bat from Rafael Fuentes to capture the win. The second baseman hammered a 3-run home run in the top of the first inning to put the Traders ahead, 3-0. It was his lone hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a humdinger.
Chicago manager Larry Link called it "a darn good win."
With the win, Chicago raised its record to 39-26.
