The Cincinnati Packers turned back the Washington Eagles, 5-4, at Monument Field. Daniel Salas, in particular, had a fine performance. He was 3-5 with a triple and 2 singles, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. Brian Alfieri was called on to finish, recording his 2nd save. The Packers improved their record to 34-29 with the win over Washington.

Had Salas not come through in the top of the ninth, who knows how the game would've ended? But with two down, Salas hit a run-scoring single. The Packers took the lead, 5-4, and never looked back.

"The guys seem happy with the win. That's good, I guess," said Salas.
