4-2 Win Gets San Francisco to 43-21
|
The San Francisco Seagulls defeated the Boston Terriers, 4-2. Doing his part was center fielder Bob Russell, who belted 2 home runs. The winning pitcher was Tim Stambaugh. He's now 9-2. He went 7.1 innings, allowing 2 runs on 4 hits for the Seagulls. Earning his 13th save for San Francisco was Dan Wood.
Rick Stafne, who is tied for 3rd in the ABL in triples with 4, had a direct impact on the outcome. Stafne contributed a run-scoring single in the top of the fifth inning to put San Francisco up, 3-2.
