Explorers Send Chicago Home with 5-2 Loss
|
St. Louis starter Bob Trout pitched well against the Chicago Traders at Corps of Discovery Stadium. The right-hander led his team to a win, 5-2. Trout, who leads the NBL in wins with 10, went the distance for St. Louis. He gave up 2 runs on 7 hits. The loss makes Chicago 39-27.
Bernie Tudor, the 6th overall pick in the 1970 draft, helped out the St. Louis cause in the bottom of the third inning with a run-scoring single. For the game, the first baseman was 1-4.
"I just kind of blacked out and executed my pitches," said Trout.
