|
Washington left fielder Alan Cassill contributed significantly to his team's 5-2 win over the Cincinnati Packers. Cassill, who is tied for 7th in the NBL in triples with 4, went 3 for 4 with 2 runs scored to lead the offensive attack for the Eagles. Washington now sits at 25-38, while Cincinnati falls to 34-30.
Washington first baseman Dustin Guest contributed a timely at-bat in the bottom of the fourth. With two down, he hit a curveball to center field for a run-scoring single. It was his 59th hit of the season and put the Eagles ahead, 2-1.
"I'm proud of the boys for pulling through," said Eagles manager Brandon Tucker. "The wins don't come easy for this team, but everyone's got an extra jump in their step after a game like this."
