Houston rode a good effort from starter Gary Decker to beat the Twin Cities Northmen at Sam Houston Field. The final score was 6-2. The win gives Houston a season record of 34-30.

The Drillers got a big at-bat from catcher Ron Ketchum. For the game, Ketchum was 1-4 with a home run, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. In the bottom of the sixth, with a runner on 1st, he stroked a 2-run home run. His 6th home run of the season gave Houston a 4-2 lead.

"We'll put that win in the can," said Ketchum, "and go after the next one."
