Blockbusters Deal Quakers 6-2 Defeat
Blockbusters right fielder Jim Brookins put his stamp on his team's 6-2 win over the Philadelphia Quakers. Brookins went 2 for 5 with 2 home runs. He drove in 4 runs and scored twice for Los Angeles in the contest. Los Angeles now sits at 30-35, while Philadelphia falls to 26-37.

Brookins had a game-changing home run in the top of the seventh. On a first pitch sinker from Chuck Galloway, he banged a 3-run home run to right-center, giving the Blockbusters a 4-1 lead. It was the 11th home run of the year for Brookins.

Brookins called the win "a lesson in teamwork."
