Habitants Win Thriller, 1-0
|
Montreal got a first-rate effort from pitcher Manny Esparza, who frustrated Los Angeles hitters en route to a 1-0 Habitants triumph at LaSalle Stadium. Montreal reliever Jerry Meek was the winner. His record is now 6-2. The losing pitcher was Mike Lindenberger. Los Angeles's current losing streak has reached 4 games.
Emanuel Santiago was the walk-off hero for Montreal. With the game tied in the bottom of the ninth inning, the Habitants catcher hit a dramatic solo home run to send the teams home.
"We'll sip on a cold one and savor this win," said Santiago.
