Eagles Earn 4-3 Win Versus Bobcats
The Washington Eagles dealt the Cleveland Bobcats a 4-3 loss at Monument Field. Dustin Guest, who led the ABL in batting average with .332 in 1970, was the star on offense. He was 2-4 with a home run and a double, while scoring 2. The win went to Ron Winder in relief. His record improves to 7-3. Ray Norton took the loss. The Eagles improved their record to 28-38 by beating Cleveland.

Rich Wagstaff helped out the Washington cause in the bottom of the seventh inning with a run-scoring ground out. For the game, the pinch hitter drove in one run.

"Winning is always a team effort," Wagstaff said after the game.
