Knickerbockers Pocket 3-1 Win Against Los Angeles
|
In a low-scoring contest between the New York Knickerbockers and the Los Angeles Blockbusters, 29-year old right-handed pitcher Danny Abril proved to be the difference. The New York right-hander earned props for his performance in the 3-1 Knickerbockers win. Ollie Hundley collected save number 11. With the win, the Knickerbockers have a record of 38-27.
The Knickerbockers got a big at-bat from second baseman Steve Wright. For the game, Wright went 1 for 4 with a home run, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. In the bottom of the first, with a runner on 1st, he stroked a 2-run home run. His 18th home run of the season gave New York a 2-0 lead.
"I'm just trying to make sure I'm focused for each and every pitch," said Abril.
