The Cincinnati Packers topped the Pittsburgh Industrials, 3-1, in National Baseball League action at Roman Arena. The game was highlighted by the performance of Cincinnati pitcher Joe Clabaugh. In 9 innings, Clabaugh surrendered 8 hits, while striking out 3 and walking 1. He allowed 1 run. The win boosted Cincinnati to 35-31.
In the bottom of the sixth, Cincinnati first baseman Barry Sheridan put his team on top. With one out and runners on 1st and 3rd, he hit his 13th home run of the year. Pittsburgh pitcher Dick Witt served it up. Just like that, the Packers were ahead, 3-1.
