Drillers Top Northmen, 2-0, Behind Contreras
|
The Houston Drillers got a magnificent performance from pitcher Oscar Contreras, who muffled the Twin Cities offense en route to a tight 2-0 Drillers win at Sam Houston Field. Warner Manning closed it out for his 4th save. Houston has run its win streak to 5 in a row.
Contreras earned the win, going 7 strong innings for Houston. The native of Las Cumbres, Panama, allowed just 1 hit, while striking out 9. Twin Cities hitters did next to nothing against the left-hander.
"Oscar was able to execute his pitches," said Houston manager Steven Palps. "Simple as that."
