Knickerbockers Rally Late to Clip San Diego
The New York Knickerbockers stopped the San Diego Captains, 3-2, at San Diego Sporting Complex. The Knickerbockers got a big game from Ted Schlener, who went 3-5 with a home run and a double, while scoring 2 and driving in 2. The defeat makes San Diego 33-33.

A defensive lapse proved costly in the contest. In the top of the 11th, with the game tied, Stan Blechinger was at the plate when New York scored 1 on an error. The miscue enabled the Knickerbockers to go in front, 3-2.

During his postgame press conference, Knickerbockers manager Sean Kelly told reporters that he expected a tight game from the get-go. "This had the potential to go down to the wire, and it certainly didn't disappoint," he said, later quipping, "it might've been a little less nerve-racking if I had been watching the game from my couch!"
