The Twin Cities Northmen used the hitting of second baseman Steve Pavey to subdue the Houston Drillers, 9-8. For the game, Pavey went 2 for 5 with a home run and a triple. He scored 2 runs and drove in 4. The defeat makes Houston 31-35.

Pavey contributed in the bottom of the fifth. With runners on 1st and 2nd, he hit a 2-run triple. It was one at-bat among others that helped Twin Cities get the win.

"We got the victory," said Pavey. "That's all that matters at the end of the day."
