Houston beat Montreal at LaSalle Stadium, escaping with a 4-3 win. The win in large part was due to right fielder Jackie Frost. He went 2 for 4 with a home run and 2 walks. Francisco Castro, the winning pitcher, improved to 6-2. He pitched 6 innings, giving up 8 hits and 3 runs, while striking out 4 and walking 3. Jeff Ferguson, credited with the save, is now 4 for 5 in save opportunities.

Mike Wells, who is tied for 7th in the ABL in bases on balls with 39, had a direct impact on the outcome. Wells contributed a run-scoring walk in the top of the sixth inning to put Houston up, 4-2.

"The other side took advantage in some key situations," said Montreal manager Michel Alexandre Cauchon.

With the win, Houston pushed its record to 35-31.
