Terriers Lose, 3-1, to Seattle
|
In a low-scoring contest between the Seattle Emeralds and the Boston Terriers, Pat Burkholder, who finished 2nd in the NBL in ERA with 2.09 in 1967, proved to be the difference. The Seattle right-hander earned props for his performance in the 3-1 Emeralds win. Burkholder picked up the win for Seattle, going 6.2 innings. He gave up 1 run on 6 hits. He now sports a record of 9-1. Phil Moore earned the save for Seattle, his 11th of the year.
It could have been a different outcome for Seattle, had it not been for Roberto Soto, the 24-year old shortstop . Soto contributed a run-scoring single in the top of the sixth inning to put Seattle up, 2-0.
Soto called the win "a team effort."
After today's action, Seattle sits at 35-30, while Boston falls to 26-40.
