Denver and Chicago got after it at Union Field.

Denver Burros starter Frank Combs was in fine form. He led his team to victory over the Chicago Traders, 5-1. The loss makes Chicago 39-29.

Denver used a well-timed hit by Guillermo Morales to capture the win. The center fielder socked a 2-run double in the top of the fifth inning to put the Burros ahead, 4-0. Though it was his only hit in 4 at-bats, it was important.

"Frank knows how to get ahead of hitters, stay ahead of hitters, and put people out," said Denver manager Clark Anderson.
