Bobcats Win at Home, 3-2
|
The Cleveland Bobcats did just enough to sneak past the Washington Eagles, 3-2, at Lakefront Stadium. Cleveland pitcher Myron Baird, in particular, had a standout performance. Baird got the win, improving to 7-5. He gave up 5 hits and walked 0 over 6 innings. He allowed 2 runs. Joe Clabaugh collected save number 13.
The Bobcats benefited from a costly error in the bottom of the fourth. With Harold Batkin at bat and Cleveland leading 2-1, the Washington miscue allowed Cleveland to plate 1 and take the lead, 3-1.
"Well, it's always frustrating to lose," said Washington manager Brandon Tucker.
The loss makes Washington 30-37.
