Bobcats Deal Traders 5-2 Setback
|
Cleveland rode a fine outing from starter Fred Harrison to victory over the Chicago Traders at Lakefront Stadium. The final score was 5-2. Matt Rutledge was called on to finish, recording his 10th save. Chicago has now lost 5 consecutive games.
The Bobcats got a big at-bat from third baseman Phil Martin. For the game, Martin went 1-3 with a home run. He drove in 2 runs and scored once. In the bottom of the second, with a runner on 1st, he stroked a 2-run home run. His 4th home run of the season gave Cleveland a 2-1 lead.
"I don't feel you win baseball games by working harder than the other team or 'wanting it more,'" Harrison told the Cleveland Gazette. "You win just by scoring more runs."
