Pittsburgh Earns 3-2 Win
|
The Pittsburgh Industrials faced a tough opponent in Milwaukee pitcher Juan Mendoza, but did just enough to pull out the victory at Milwaukee Municipal Stadium by a final score of 3-2. Mendoza went 9 innings and allowed 3 runs. Gene Steinhauer, the winning pitcher, is now 2-1. He went 7 innings, allowing 2 runs on 5 hits, while fanning 2 and walking 2. With the win, the Industrials have a record of 37-32.
Pittsburgh took advantage of an error in the top of the eighth inning. The game was tied, 2-2, when Rob Isenbarger hit a run-scoring single that was misplayed. It put the Industrials in front, 3-2.
"Every loss hurts," said Milwaukee manager Brandon Dudley. "But this was a tough one."
