The Cleveland Bobcats beat the Cincinnati Packers, 10-5, at Lakefront Stadium. Benito Olivas, in particular, was impressive. He went 4-5 with a double and 3 singles, while scoring 3 times. The win for the Bobcats raised their record to 37-32.
In the bottom of the eighth, the Bobcats grabbed the lead when Olivas hit his 10th double of the season. The run-scoring double off Kenny Foster made it 6-5, Cleveland.
"If it's down the middle," said Olivas, "you might as well hit it."
