Cincinnati Packers starter Damon Rutherford turned in a top-notch performance against the Cleveland Bobcats at Roman Arena. The result was a win for the Packers, 7-2. The loss makes Cleveland 44-24.
Lee McGee had a big 3-run home run for the Packers in the bottom of the sixth inning. With Cincinnati leading 4-2 and runners on 1st and 2nd, he sized up a curveball from Roger Scherf, who led the NBL in wins with 21 in 1970, and punished it. The result was his 3rd home run of the season, which put the Packers on top, 7-2.
"I just tried to see the ball and put a good swing on it," said McGee.
