Explorers Win, 7-5, Versus Kansas City
Chris Taylor did all he could to help his team win. In the end, though, it wasn't enough to keep the Kansas City Bulls from being beaten, 7-5, to the St. Louis Explorers at Independence Field. Taylor went 2-3 with a home run, a double, and 2 walks. Bernie Tate was credited with the save. He has now successfully converted 11 of 15 save opportunities. With the win, St. Louis raised its record to 37-32.

St. Louis used the timely hitting of Chuck Panetta to seize the win. The left fielder stroked a 2-run single in the top of the eighth inning to put the Explorers on top, 6-5. It was his only hit in 5 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.

"I just tried to make good contact," said Panetta.
