The Houston Drillers weathered an outstanding game by Dallas left fielder Juan Duran to topple the Wranglers, 7-6. Duran went 1 for 4 with a home run, while adding 4 RBI and scoring once. Tim Fried notched his 8th save in 10 chances. The triumph puts Houston at 38-32 for the season.

Houston left fielder Armando Amador contributed a timely at-bat in the bottom of the third. With two down, he hit a fastball into center field for a run-scoring single. It was his 76th hit of the season and put the Drillers ahead, 7-0.

"We got the victory," said Amador. "That's all that matters at the end of the day."
