Northmen Get Close Win Over Hawks, 2-1
|
Starting pitcher Joe Gibson did his part in helping the Twin Cities Northmen thwart the Chicago Hawks, 2-1. The victory makes Twin Cities 3-5.
Twin Cities used the timely hitting of Dave Bishop to seize the win. The pinch hitter stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the ninth inning to put the Northmen on top, 2-1. It was his only hit in 1 at-bat, but it was a game-changer.
"We just didn't score enough runs to win," said Chicago manager Mike Flaherty.
