The New York Knickerbockers beat the Philadelphia Quakers, 5-2, at Knickerbocker Stadium. Francisco Chavez, in particular, was impressive. He was 3 for 3 with 3 singles and 2 walks. He drove in 3 runs and scored once. New York is now 37-34, Philadelphia 28-44.

New York took a 3-2 lead on Jeff Madsen's 16th double of the season. The run-scoring double, which Madsen hit in the bottom of the eighth, left Philadelphia pitcher Darrell Klug visibly frustrated.
