Eagles Send Pittsburgh Home with 6-3 Loss
Washington and Pittsburgh duked it out and the Eagles came out victorious.

Getting a good performance from left fielder Alan Cassill, the Washington Eagles defeated the Pittsburgh Industrials, 6-3. Cassill went 2-2 with a home run and 2 walks. He scored 2 times and drove in 2 for the Eagles. Curt Kirkley notched his 8th save in 8 chances.

Ed Cook came through for Washington when he hit a run-scoring single in the bottom of the fifth. With runners on 1st and 3rd, he hit a two-strike fastball to right-center field, staking his team to a 4-3 lead.

"Trying isn't good enough in this league," said Cook. "You've got to get results."

Washington now sits at 28-42, while Pittsburgh falls to 42-30.
