Hit Parade: Campbell Pops 5 Hits
Wednesday, May 12th , 1976
Kevin Campbell found his groove in today's game versus the Washington Eagles and wrote his name in the league record book. His 5-for-7 performance at the plate unfortunately wasn't enough for the St. Louis Explorers, as the club lost the game, 5-3.
The 24-year-old left fielder told the press "it was one of those days where everything clicked."
"I made solid contact, and the ball dropped in," Campbell said.
Kevin Campbell singled in the 1st, singled in the 3rd, tripled in the 6th, singled in the 8th, grounded out in the 9th, singled in the 11th and grounded out in the 13th.
This year, Campbell is hitting .490 with no home runs and 10 RBIs in 23 games played. He also boasts an OBP of .500 with no walks and 6 runs scored.
