Knickerbockers Swap Chavez to Quakers for Schlener Monday, January 10th , 1977 New York and Philadelphia announced some roster changes today as the Knickerbockers acquired 29-year old CF Ted Schlener and a 4th round draft pick from the Quakers in exchange for 35-year old 1B Francisco Chavez and 26-year old LHP Sid Shafer. Representatives from both teams say they are pleased with the deal. Taking a look at his lifetime stats, Chavez is hitting .270 with a total of 242 home runs. Over his career Schlener is batting .280 with 228 doubles, 32 triples, 112 home runs, 583 RBIs and scored 529 runs in 1201 games. |
