Batkin Sidelined, Listed DTD by Cleveland Monday, April 22nd , 1963 It's a long season and everyone picks up some cuts and bruises along the way. The latest star to be suffering this year is Harold Batkin of the Cleveland Bobcats, who suffered a sore elbow while colliding with a player at a base in yesterday's contest against Philadelphia. While he could play through the injury, it's unclear whether or not the Cleveland organization will risk that or simply sit him out for the one week the injury is expected to last. In 13 games this year Batkin has posted a .283 average and put up these numbers: 2 home runs, 8 RBIs and 6 runs scored. |
