Slip on Wet Floor to Sideline Simmons
Wednesday, February 5th , 1975
Duane Simmons will be out of action for the next few weeks after slipping on a wet floor at his home. The Wolverines third baseman suffered a gluteus strain when his feet went out from underneath him as he unwittingly walked across a recently-mopped kitchen floor. "It's a little embarrassing," said Simmons of his aching posterior. "I can't even sit down comfortably at the moment." Although teammates have been cracking jokes at his expense, Simmons is taking the injury in stride. "I'm sure the idea of me falling on my backside amuses them quite a bit, but I'm not laughing about having to be out for 2 weeks. I want to get back on the field and help these guys win some ballgames."
