Captains Swap Montoya to Emeralds for Rojas Monday, March 7th , 1977 San Diego and Seattle announced some roster changes today as the Captains acquired 24-year old LF Alex Rojas, a 2nd round draft pick, and a 3rd round draft pick from the Emeralds in exchange for 29-year old 1B Ramon Montoya. Representatives from both teams say they are pleased with the deal. His numbers show Montoya is carrying a .246 lifetime batting average with 63 home runs and 207 RBIs. A check of his lifetime stats shows Rojas has a career .242 average with 338 hits, 63 doubles, 10 triples, 18 home runs and 132 RBIs. To date he has scored 138 runs, walked 95 times and stolen 1 bases. |
