Bobcats Send Spaulding to Cincinnati Monday, June 7th , 1965 Proving the old adage that one man's trash is another man's treasure, the Bobcats announced today the acquisition of 33-year old SS Joe Hill from the Cincinnati Packers in exchange for 30-year old 3B Dick Spaulding and a 3rd round draft pick. "This isn't the deal of the century," acknowledged the Bobcats, "but we think it will improve the direction of both teams." For the season Spaulding has produced 14 hits in 58 at-bats for a .241 average with no home runs and gotten on base at a .312 clip. To date Hill has chalked up a .206 average with no home runs, driven in 6 runs and scored 4 times. |
