Los Angeles Hopeless Against Stambaugh
Wednesday, April 23rd , 1975
In a seemingly effortless performance, Tim Stambaugh of the San Francisco Seagulls shot down the Los Angeles Pobladores, 9-0, on 8 hits.
"Tim was just locating so well and using his pitches," San Francisco manager Al Borie said later. "He wasn't leaving anything over the plate."
Stambaugh recorded 7 strikeouts and 2 walks in a strong outing.
"When he needed to make pitches, he elevated his game," Los Angeles manager Kurt Peterson said in postgame comments to BNN. "We couldn't get a key hit off him."
