Bad News for Houston, Randy Barnes Hurt Sunday, April 17th , 1977 Randy Barnes of the Houston Drillers was injured in today's game against Chicago and had to be helped off the field by the trainers. The initial diagnosis is a torn abdominal muscle, and he is expected to be out for up to 2-3 months. It happened while Barnes was running the bases. "It hurt a lot, to be honest. I just hope it heals soon and I can get back on the field." Barnes has collected 17 hits for the Drillers this year, 2 of them home runs. He has also netted 9 RBIs and scored 6 runs while batting .447. |
